Daisyhouse Housing Association

We provide supported housing to single homeless adults with support needs who are motivated towards independent living.

Our primary service is transitional housing and support but we also provide long-term housing options.

Founded in 1989 by the late Sister Una McCourtney, Daisyhouse provides secure, affordable, supported accommodation for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Why is there a need for Daisyhouse?

People become homeless for a variety of reasons including domestic abuse, ill health, relationship breakdown, loss of income, addiction, bereavement. Often they need a space where they can recover from the trauma of their experiences, feel safe and in time, move forward in their personal development and lives. Daisyhouse provides such a space.

Daisyhouse Housing Association is a voluntary non-denominational organisation which is registered as a limited liability company with charitable status.

What does the name Daisyhouse mean?

The daisy is symbolic because being rooted and secure; it has potential for continued growth. The centre of the flower, containing full seeds for daisies, represents the individualism of the homeless people being accommodated. The petals, reaching outward, symbolise the embracing of new possibilities based on a sense of security, a feeling of confidence and a recognition of personal dignity and self-worth.
