Running Costs of Daisyhouse

The cost of living in Ireland is high, and just as it costs you a lot to run your home, it costs a lot to run Daisyhouse. Thank you for contributing to any of the following items:

Costs of providing cutlery, cooking utensils, bedding and appliances. Many of the people we help come to us with nothing.

  • Replacing the kitchen units in our flats
  • Providing good quality furniture in our flats
  • Cost of counselling. Many of the people we help are in need of counselling as part of their recovery. There are long waiting lists to access state funded and the few free counselling services that are available.
  • Cost of books. We help many of our service users access education and training as part of their route out of homelessness.
  • Social activities. Many of the people we help have little if any disposable income and are vulnerable to feelings of isolation. We organise some activities for them but not as many as we would like.

New Services

We’re developing new and much needed services

Homelessness is a problem that affects all parts of the country. Some areas are more badly off than others for homeless services.
We have identified a number of areas in desperate need of the services we provide. Help us to bring a little Daisyhouse outside of Dublin.

We need €25k to develop a new innovative visiting support service

We plan to develop a new visiting support service for homeless people in an area outside of Dublin. The new service will help people, who have a history of repeat homelessness, keep their accommodation. The project has been offered €60,000 already, but needs another €25,000 to start and run it for at least two years.

Now is the time to invest in long-term housing

With the property market at a low, now’s the time to purchase quality accommodation for people moving through our services. Unfortunately, the Government grants that were used for this in the past have dried up. Please donate what you can so we can continue to buy properties for use as long-term accommodation.

Rent to us!

If you own property and would consider renting it to one of our service users or leasing it to us, we would love to hear from you.

Give your time

  • Plumbers, carpenters, electricians… the accommodation we provide is often in need of improvement and we need your help now!
  • Share your skills. Are you a whizz on Word? Or a master of menus? We’re always on the look out for people to give cookery courses, computer instruction, and to share their talents with our service users who are keen to learn and to rebuild their lives.
  • Run a marathon! Climb a mountain. Host an event. Whatever you’re doing, please do it for Daisyhouse. Visit our page on mycharity.ie and register your event
